I may as well pick up a book of stamps while I'm at the post office.
"Well, we have Star Wars, super-heroes, base-ball..."
"Super-heroes will do," I interrupted.
The pane of stamps is actually pretty cool. It features classic Marvel characters like the Sub-Mariner, Captain America, and Iron Man among other more popular characters. Half the stamps are portraits of the heroes in vintage style, while the other half is corresponding cover art from when the comic books were but 12 cents.
Now, I'm not a comic book fanboy by any means; but I do find the Marvel universe fascinating (much more so than DC). The plot lines are often interesting, the motives complex, and the backdrops aware of current social-political climates.
They look so classy, I'm not sure I can actually use them. Wait, first class stamps are now 41 cents?
